How it works

Three steps, and the testing comes to you.

Request a test

Send the form with your truck count and where they are parked. We'll confirm a time.

We test at your yard

A credentialed tester arrives with the equipment the program requires. Several trucks can be done in one visit.

Results are submitted

Test results go to CARB's Clean Truck Check system. If a truck doesn't pass, you'll know what to address before your deadline.

Good to know: you still report your vehicles and pay the annual compliance fee to CARB yourself, through its CTC-VIS system. We handle the test, not your CARB account.

Clean Truck Check is a California Air Resources Board (CARB) program. Start with the numbers, check your own truck, then open any topic for the short version.

This is a general guide based on CARB's published rules, not legal advice. A few vehicle types are exempt (emergency, military tactical, historical, and out-of-state motorhomes).

Common questions

Are you part of CARB?

No. Uptime Direct LLC is an independent testing business. CARB is the state agency that runs Clean Truck Check and sets its rules. Our tester holds a CARB credential to perform the tests.

Do I still pay CARB's fee?

Yes. The annual compliance fee is paid by the vehicle owner to CARB through CTC-VIS. We don't collect it.

What if a truck doesn't pass?

You'll get the results and can make repairs before your deadline. We can't guarantee a pass, but fixing warning lights early and not clearing codes right before a test helps. Ask us about retesting.

What does it cost, and where do you work?

Pricing depends on your truck count and location, so send a request for a quote. We test at your yard across the San Francisco Bay Area, from the Peninsula to the East Bay.
